Oysters, Crudo and Seafood Platters in Phuket
Where to eat oysters, crudo and a proper seafood platter on Phuket's west coast, with published per-piece oyster prices, after a year that quietly closed three of the island's raw bars.
In short
For raw seafood on Phuket's west coast as of July 2026, the working options are Bisou in Cherngtalay for a French crudo bar with oysters from 90 THB a piece, Catch Beach Club on Bang Tao for oysters and crudo on the sand, La Marée on Lagoon Road for Gillardeau oysters and shrimp platters, and La Crique at Trisara for caviar and tartare. Three other raw bars in the area have closed or changed format since late 2025.
See the menuPhuket means seafood, but almost all of it arrives cooked: grilled over charcoal, wokked with chilli and basil, or steamed with lime. Raw is a smaller world, and on the west coast it got smaller in the past year. As of July 2026 the working options near Bang Tao and Cherngtalay are Bisou for a French crudo bar, with oysters from 90 THB a piece, Catch Beach Club for oysters and crudo on the sand, La Marée on Lagoon Road for Gillardeau oysters and shrimp platters, and La Crique at Trisara for caviar and tartare. Here is what each actually serves, what it costs, and how to read an oyster menu before you order.
What happened to Phuket's raw bars
If you are working from a guide written before 2026, check it. Three of the west coast's raw seafood addresses have closed or changed format in the past year, and the lists that still recommend them are out of date.
The dedicated oyster counter at Kamala, The Oyster Bar x Café del Mar, is permanently closed, though the beach club at that address still runs its own caviar and oyster page. Palm Seaside on the southern tip of Bang Tao became KALIDO and, since a rebrand announced in December 2025, operates as a private events venue rather than a public restaurant. The Siam Supper Club on Lagoon Road has closed its doors, with its own site saying it is taking a break. And the Seafood Market at Angsana Laguna now trades as Baan Talay, where the seafood is cooked Thai rather than served raw.
That leaves a shorter, clearer list, which is the good news for anyone actually trying to order oysters tonight.

How to read an oyster menu in Phuket
Before comparing prices, compare grades, because the number beside a French oyster is a size and not a quality ranking. French oysters are numbered from 0 to 5, and the scale runs backwards: the lower the number, the larger the oyster. A No.2 is a bigger oyster than a No.4, so a No.2 costing more than an N4 is not necessarily the better deal, it is simply more oyster.
Two names dominate the island's menus. Fine de Claire are finished in shallow clay basins, the claires, in Marennes-Oléron, which gives them a mild, less briny character. Gillardeau are a single family's oysters from the same region, aged longer and marketed as a premium product, which is why they carry a higher price almost everywhere they appear. Both are French and both are flown in, so you are paying for grade, brand and freight rather than for local catch.
The number beside a French oyster is a size, not a score. Lower number, larger oyster.
Reading a raw bar menuThe four raw bars worth knowing
Bisou
A full crudo section rather than a token oyster: Fine de Claire N4 at 90 THB a piece and a green kiss oyster with apple and cucumber at 110, bluefin tuna tartare with otoro at 790, Hokkaido scallop with coconut at 590, madai ceviche at 790, a crab roll on French toast at 390, and the Bisou seafood platter at 1,590. Prunier caviar 30g is 2,990, or added to the platter for 1,490.
Catch Beach Club
The best-known beach club on Bang Tao backs its sunset reputation with a real raw bar: dedicated crudo and caviar sections, with Fine de Claire No.2 at 190 THB a piece and Gillardeau No.2 at 280. Open daily from 7:30 AM to midnight.
La Marée
Cherngtalay's seafood house, where imported product does the talking: Gillardeau oysters at 280 THB a piece or 1,390 for six, shrimp platters on ice at 590 for a half kilo and 990 for a kilo, and salmon roe by the 100g. Open daily 8 AM to midnight.
La Crique at Trisara
The most formal of the four, in a glass-walled room above Trisara's private cove. Kaviari Kristal caviar at 4,900 THB for 30g, yellowfin tuna tartare with caviar and citrus at 1,300, crab salad at 1,300. Daily noon to 3 PM and 6 to 10 PM, a fifteen-minute drive north of Cherngtalay.
The crudo bar at Bisou
Bisou is a modern French restaurant and cocktail bar at No.4 Bandon-Cherngtalay Road, a short drive from Laguna, Boat Avenue and Bang Tao Beach, and the crudo section is a proper part of the menu rather than an afterthought. It opens with two oysters, the Fine de Claire N4 at 90 THB and a green kiss with apple and cucumber at 110, and runs through bluefin tuna tartare with otoro, yuzu and avocado at 790, a Hokkaido scallop with coconut and cucumber at 590, a madai ceviche with togarashi and spicy oil at 790, and a crab roll on French toast with beurre blanc at 390. Caviar can be added to most of them for 390.
The centrepiece is the Bisou seafood platter at 1,590, built on ice to share across the table, with 15g of caviar available on top for 1,490. For a full caviar service, Prunier 30g with French toast, onion dip and crème fraîche is 2,990. Everything here is plated to share, which is the point of the room: a crudo platter, a bottle from the cellar, then a beef Wellington carved at the table. Dinner is served nightly from 6 PM and the cocktail bar runs to 1 AM. See the full menu, or our guide to the best French restaurants in Phuket.

Where can I eat oysters in Phuket?
On the west coast near Bang Tao and Cherngtalay as of July 2026, four addresses serve them: Bisou in Cherngtalay lists Fine de Claire N4 from 90 THB a piece, Catch Beach Club on Bang Tao lists Fine de Claire No.2 at 190 THB and Gillardeau No.2 at 280 THB, La Marée on Lagoon Road lists Gillardeau at 280 THB a piece or 1,390 for six, and La Crique at Trisara serves caviar and tartare in a more formal setting.
Why are oyster prices so different in Phuket?
Because the grade and the brand differ, not just the restaurant. French oysters are numbered by size and the scale runs backwards, so a No.2 is larger than a No.4 and costs more for that reason alone. Gillardeau is a premium single-family brand and prices above a standard Fine de Claire almost everywhere. All of these oysters are flown in from France, so freight is in the price too.
Where can I get a seafood platter near Bang Tao?
Bisou in Cherngtalay serves a seafood platter at 1,590 THB, built on ice to share, with 15g of caviar available for an additional 1,490. La Marée on Lagoon Road serves shrimp platters on ice at 590 THB for half a kilo and 990 for a kilo. Note that the Seafood Market at Angsana Laguna now trades as Baan Talay and serves its seafood cooked rather than raw.
Has anything closed recently?
Yes, and it matters if you are following an older list. The Oyster Bar x Café del Mar at Kamala is permanently closed, Palm Seaside became KALIDO and has operated as a private events venue since December 2025, and The Siam Supper Club on Lagoon Road is closed. The Seafood Market at Angsana Laguna is now Baan Talay, with a cooked Thai seafood menu.
Where can I eat caviar in Phuket?
Bisou in Cherngtalay serves Prunier caviar, 30g with French toast, onion dip and crème fraîche at 2,990 THB, and adds 15g to its seafood platter for 1,490. La Crique at Trisara serves Kaviari Kristal at 4,900 THB for 30g, and Catch Beach Club carries a caviar section on its Bang Tao menu.
