Dinner Off the Resort: Where to Eat Near Laguna Phuket

If you are staying inside Laguna Phuket and want to eat somewhere that is not the hotel restaurant, the good news is that you barely have to travel. Boat Avenue and Porto de Phuket, the open-air dining strip, sit right at the entrance to the Laguna complex. Five minutes inland along Bandon-Cherngtalay Road you reach the independents, including Bisou, a modern French restaurant plated to share. The Bang Tao beachfront is a similar hop the other way. This guide covers what is where, how far it really is, and which kitchens are still serving when your resort's has closed.

Guests at Banyan Tree, Angsana Laguna, SAii Laguna, Dusit Thani Laguna, Cassia and Homm Suites are all within roughly five to ten minutes by car of the same handful of streets. If you are at Cassia or Homm Suites, with a kitchenette and a position near the Laguna entrance, you are closer still. From the Layan and northern properties, Anantara Layan, The Pavilions and Trisara, allow ten to fifteen minutes down the coast road.

The three places to eat, from the Laguna gate

There are three directions from the Laguna gate, and they suit different evenings: Boat Avenue and Porto de Phuket at the entrance itself, the Cherngtalay independents five minutes inland on Bandon-Cherngtalay Road, and the Bang Tao beachfront a similar distance the other way.

Boat Avenue and Porto de Phuket, at the entrance to the complex, are the easy default: two adjacent open-air malls with dozens of kitchens, Italian trattorias, Japanese yakiniku, Thai, Mexican, a steak-and-lounge room on the lake behind the strip, and casual cafes. As Willy Thuan of Phuket 101 describes it, "Boat Avenue Phuket is a popular open-air shopping and dining neighbourhood at the entrance of the Laguna Complex in Bang Tao, Cherngtalay." Cherngtalay, inland along Bandon-Cherngtalay Road, is where the independents are. These are the rooms with their own character rather than a mall address, and where a table is worth booking. Bisou sits on this road.

The Bang Tao beachfront is the sunset option: beach clubs and live-fire kitchens with sand underfoot. Best earlier in the evening, since most of them wind down before the inland rooms do.

Here are eight rooms across the three zones, with their published hours as of July 2026. Always confirm before setting out, since hours in Cherngtalay move with the season.

Which kitchens are actually open late

As of July 2026, most kitchens near Laguna and Bang Tao stop serving food between 10:30 and 11 PM: Catch Beach Club serves dinner until 10:30 PM and SUAY until 11 PM. This is worth knowing before you set out, because Cherngtalay is quieter after dinner than the resort brochures suggest.

If your table is running long, the practical options narrow. At Bisou, dinner runs from 6 PM with last food orders around 11 PM, and the cocktail bar keeps going until 1 AM, so a late dinner can turn into a proper night without moving. Getting there and back

Distances here are short but not walkable in the heat, with one exception: if you are at Cassia, Homm Suites or the Hilton Garden Inn, Boat Avenue is close enough to walk on a cool evening. From everywhere else, a car is a few minutes and a few hundred baht.

Ask your resort's front desk for a taxi, or use Grab, which works normally in this part of Phuket. Laguna runs internal shuttles between its own properties, so check the current stops at reception before assuming one will drop you on Boat Avenue. On the way back, the restaurant will call you a car. Book a table for the independents, particularly in high season, since these are small rooms rather than mall-sized ones.

Bisou, the French room five minutes from the gate

Bisou is a modern French restaurant and cocktail bar at No.4 Bandon-Cherngtalay Road, a short drive from Laguna, Boat Avenue and Bang Tao Beach. It was founded in 2025 by Antoine Darquin and Théo Lavergne, with head chef Manon Bares in the kitchen and Louis Chartier on the room.

The food is plated to share, so a table orders together rather than each to their own: truffle French toast to start, a house beef Wellington carved at the table, a whole seabass baked in salt crust and flambeed beside you, black truffle fagottini, a wagyu hanger steak, and a grand cru chocolate soufflé to finish. Dinner is served nightly from 6 PM and the cocktail bar runs to 1 AM, which makes it one of the few rooms nearby where the evening does not end when the kitchen does.
