How to Book a Restaurant in Phuket in High Season, 2026/27
When to book, which dates to plan around and how far ahead to book a dinner in Phuket from November to March, with the 2026/27 dates that matter, two published resort prepayment examples, and how to book Bisou in Cherngtalay.
In short
As of 28 October 2026, Phuket Expat Guide (April 2026) says many top Phuket restaurants fill up two to four weeks ahead over Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year (Saturday 6 February 2027) and advises booking ahead throughout November to March. Two resort dinners we checked, Paradox Phuket on Christmas Eve and Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket on New Year's Eve, are sold prepaid, with early-bird deadlines between 31 October and 30 November 2026. Bisou Phuket, a modern French restaurant and cocktail bar in Cherngtalay, books at book.bistrochat.com/bisou-phuket and +66 96 378 9668, and welcomes walk-ins when there is room.
Book a table at BisouTo book a restaurant in Phuket in high season, reserve ahead for every night from November to March, and book Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year (Saturday 6 February 2027) two to four weeks out, because Phuket Expat Guide (April 2026) says many top restaurants fill up that far ahead. The guidance we found mixes a general rule to book ahead throughout high season, a figure of their own for one or two named venues (two weeks for Kata Rocks), and that two-to-four-week range for the peak weeks; this guide shows where each one comes from. Bisou Phuket, a modern French restaurant and cocktail bar in Cherngtalay near Laguna and Bang Tao, takes reservations online and by phone, and welcomes walk-ins when there is room.
The dates below are for the 2026/27 season, as of 28 October 2026. Where a number comes from a third party, we name it, because every one of them is an estimate and not a rule.
When is high season in Phuket, and which weeks are the peak?
High season in Phuket runs from November to April by Phuket 101's calendar, with the peak from mid-December to February. Phuket 101, a long-running local guide updated in July 2026, splits it into a November to early December transition, a mid-December to February peak, and a hotter March to May tail that includes Songkran on 13 to 15 April. Phuket Expat Guide, which writes about dining, draws the line earlier and says November to March. The sources differ by a month at the edge.
The scale is measurable. Phuket International Airport handled 17,474,064 passengers in 2025, up 1.5% on 2024 and about 96% of the pre-pandemic level of 2019 (The Phuket Express, January 2026). Within the season, Phuket 101 says the most popular beachfront hotels sell out weeks ahead, especially over New Year and Chinese New Year, and that prices can be even higher in those peak weeks (Phuket 101). Phuket Expat Guide, writing about restaurants, names Christmas/New Year and Chinese New Year as its peak weeks.
How far ahead should you book a restaurant in Phuket in high season?
Book ahead for all of high season, and for the three peak stretches book at least two to four weeks out, which is the most specific range we found. Phuket Expat Guide (published April 2026) advises always booking in advance for high season, November to March. For Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year the same guide says many top restaurants fill up two to four weeks ahead, so book at least that far out. It also gives shorter figures for two named venues, Kata Rocks and Catch Beach Club, in its FAQ.
Hotels run on a longer clock. Phuket 101 advises booking at least one to two months ahead for December and January, especially for beachfront hotels, and says two to three weeks ahead is usually enough for November, March or April. It adds that over New Year and Chinese New Year popular hotels sell out even earlier. Restaurant guidance is shorter than hotel guidance, but both say to book earlier for New Year and Chinese New Year.
Our reading, and it is advice and not a Bisou policy: if your trip includes Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve or Chinese New Year, aim to book that dinner by the four-week date in the table below, the far end of the published range, and earlier if you want a resort's early-bird price. For every other evening of the season, the guide's advice is simply to book ahead, so do not leave a celebration to the day.
Which nights should you plan around in 2026/27?
Three periods carry the most pressure: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and Chinese New Year. Valentine's Day is a fourth date to plan around: Phuket 101's romantic-restaurant guide says some restaurants are "very popular, especially on Valentine's Day", though no guide we checked quantifies it. The table gives each date and the day four weeks before it. The two to four week range is published for Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year only, so the Valentine's date is our extrapolation. The last column is our own arithmetic, not a rule and not a deadline from any restaurant.
| Night | Date | What the sources say | Four weeks before the first date (our arithmetic, not a published rule) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Christmas Eve and Christmas Day | Thursday 24 and Friday 25 December 2026 | Named a peak week (Christmas/New Year) by Phuket Expat Guide; Paradox Phuket sells its Christmas Eve buffet with full prepayment, early bird 20% off to 31 October and 15% off to 30 November 2026 (Christmas Eve only; no Christmas Day offer found) | Thursday 26 November 2026 |
| New Year's Eve | Thursday 31 December 2026 | Falls in the Christmas/New Year peak weeks named by Phuket Expat Guide; Phuket 101 says hotels sell out weeks ahead over New Year; Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket sells its gala with full payment to confirm | Thursday 3 December 2026 |
| Chinese New Year, eve and day | Friday 5 and Saturday 6 February 2027 | Named a peak week by Phuket Expat Guide; Phuket 101 lists it among its peak weeks for hotel prices and sell-outs | Friday 8 January 2027 |
| Valentine's Day | Sunday 14 February 2027 | Called very popular by Phuket 101's romantic-restaurant guide, with no booking window given; inside the mid-December to February peak | Sunday 17 January 2027 (assumed; no range published) |
Chinese New Year 2027 falls on Saturday 6 February, with the Lantern Festival on 20 February (China Travel). China's official holiday dates for 2027 had not been announced when we checked on 28 October 2026. The State Council's General Office has published them between late October and early December in recent years, so the exact length of the break is not fixed yet.
How do resort Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve dinners work in Phuket?
Two Phuket resorts we checked require full prepayment to confirm a table: Paradox Phuket for its Christmas Eve buffet, and Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket for its New Year's Eve gala. Each offers early-bird discounts, with deadlines of 31 October and 30 November 2026 at Paradox and 15 November 2026 at Dusit Thani Laguna. Two published examples, as of 28 October 2026:
- Paradox Phuket sells its Christmas Eve buffet on 24 December 2026 at THB 3,500 net per adult, with full prepayment required to confirm the table. Early bird is 20% off if you book by 31 October 2026 and 15% off by 30 November 2026 (Paradox Phuket).
- Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket sells its New Year's Eve gala dinner at THB 15,900 per person, including a glass of sparkling wine, with 10% off if you book and pay by 15 November 2026. Reservations require full payment to confirm (Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket).
Phuket 101 adds a warning for hotel guests: the New Year's Eve gala dinner by the pool is "often compulsory", so check whether your rate includes one before you book (Phuket 101, updated September 2026). If you have a gala attached to your room, an independent restaurant on the other nights is where the planning matters.
If you would rather eat at Bisou on those nights, the details are in our guides to Christmas dinner at Bisou Phuket and New Year's Eve dinner at Bisou Phuket.
Which way of booking works best in Phuket?
Use the restaurant's own website or booking page first, then a message app or a call. Phuket Expat Guide notes that most of the top restaurants it lists now accept reservations through their website, WhatsApp or Google, and says one of them, Bampot Kitchen & Bar in Phuket Town, still works by phone or walk-in outside peak season. The practical difference in high season is the written confirmation: a booking you can see on your phone is easier to change than a spoken one.
Whichever channel you use, say who is coming (children, a birthday, an allergy) and what time you want, because those three change the table you are given. Ask about deposits and cancellation at the same moment, because terms vary; the two resort examples above publish theirs.
What time should you book in high season?
Book early or late if you can; the middle of the evening is the slot everyone asks for. That is practical advice and not a published statistic. Two things give you room at Bisou Phuket:
- Early: dinner starts at 6:00 PM on an ordinary night, and at 5:00 PM on 24 and 25 December and 31 December 2026. An early table also suits children best, since the room is calm early and the music lifts as the night goes on.
- Late: the last food order is around 11 PM on an ordinary night, and the kitchen takes orders until midnight on 24 and 25 December and 31 December 2026. On an ordinary night, Catch Beach Club serves dinner until 10:30 PM and SUAY until 11 PM (published hours, July 2026); our guide to dinner outside your Laguna resort compares closing times and gives rough travel times by car.
What if the table you want is gone?
Come to the bar, move your time, or move your night. A full diary is not the end of the evening.
- The bar. The cocktail bar at Bisou runs to 1 AM and you can come just for a drink; cocktails are 490 THB. Walk-ins are accepted when there is room, though a booking is safer. See the cocktail bar at Bisou.
- A different hour. Ask for the 6 PM start or a table after 9 PM before you give up on the date.
- A different night. The two to four week range published by Phuket Expat Guide is about the peak stretches, so the nights around them are outside it.
- A different restaurant. Our guides to where to eat in Bang Tao and Cherngtalay and late night dining in Bang Tao cover the area by the evening you want.
How do you book Bisou Phuket in high season?
Book Bisou Phuket online at book.bistrochat.com/bisou-phuket, by phone on +66 96 378 9668, or by email at contact@bisouphuket.com. Bisou does not publish a fixed booking window: booking is recommended, and walk-ins are welcome when there is room. For New Year's Eve, book early, because it fills faster than an ordinary night.
The practical facts for a high-season dinner at Bisou:
- Address: No.4 Bandon-Cherngtalay Road, Choeng Thale, Thalang, Phuket 83110, about five minutes inland from the Laguna Phuket gate.
- Hours: open nightly, 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM; the last food order is around 11 PM and the cocktail bar runs to 1 AM.
- Parking: complimentary valet, with self-parking at the rear via the side street.
- Dress code: smart casual, no flip-flops, which is worth saying to a table arriving from the beach.
- Children: welcome, with no minimum age and high chairs available.
- What to order: the menu runs from truffle French toast to a beef Wellington carved at the table and a whole seabass in salt crust, flambéed at the table. Everything else to know before you book, from vegetarian dishes to allergies, is in the Bisou Phuket guide.
What should you tell the restaurant when you book?
Tell the restaurant how many people are coming, what time you want, and anything you are celebrating, because those change the table. At Bisou Phuket, mention children and their ages, allergies, and whether it is a birthday.
A birthday has its own rules at Bisou Phuket: the birthday dessert plate is offered at no charge, bringing your own cake costs nothing because there is no cakeage, and the whole table takes 10% off the bill on any night of the birthday month on presentation of an ID. The details are in our birthday dinner guide for Phuket.
For a group dinner or a private evening, ask about private events when you first enquire, and read our guide to private dining in Bang Tao and Cherngtalay before you choose a night.
