What is Bisou Phuket?
Bisou Phuket is a modern French restaurant and cocktail bar in Cherngtalay, opened in 2025 by chef Antoine Darquin and sommelier Théo Lavergne, where the food is plated to share and the bar runs to 1 AM. Bisou means kiss in French, and the tagline is simple & sexy: French cooking that feels generous rather than fussy, a menu written for two pairs of hands rather than one, and a room that stays open long after most kitchens on this coast have gone dark. Where we sit among the French restaurants of Phuket is a longer story.
It is the second Bisou, after the original on Soi Langsuan in Bangkok, with its own room, its own kitchen and its own menu. The signatures set the tone: truffle French toast, a house beef Wellington carved at the table, a whole seabass baked in salt crust and flambéed in front of you, black truffle pasta, a Prunier caviar service. The room runs on candlelight, with a kiss wall, a spiral staircase and a bar you actually want to sit at.
It is a restaurant first, but the evening keeps going: the kitchen takes its last order around 11 PM, and the bar carries the room to 1 AM.
Where is Bisou and how do I get there?
Bisou Phuket is at No.4 Bandon-Cherngtalay Rd, Choeng Thale, Thalang, Phuket 83110, on Phuket's west coast, a short drive from Laguna, Boat Avenue and Bang Tao Beach. Cherngtalay is the same place maps write as Choeng Thale, two spellings of one name.
Phuket has no train, so you arrive by car or taxi: tell the driver Bandon-Cherngtalay Road, and there is parking close by the restaurant. If you are staying at Laguna or anywhere along Bang Tao, the drive is short. The neighbourhood eats well far beyond us, and we mapped it, address by address, in Where to Eat in Bang Tao and Cherngtalay.
What does dinner at Bisou Phuket cost?
Bisou Phuket is à la carte, plated to share, with no set menu: signature dishes run 1,290 to 2,990 THB, mains 490 to 990 THB, starters 190 to 990 THB, desserts 450 THB and oysters start at 90 THB. The table builds its own dinner from the card, and the card is priced to let you.
Starters, listed as First Kiss on the menu, run from a 190 THB sea bream tartelette to the 990 THB French toast with caviar. Mains sit between 490 and 990 THB, every dessert is 450 THB with the artisanal French cheese plate at 790, and the Prunier caviar service is 2,990 THB. The wagyu hanger steak is priced per 100 g at 690 THB, so the table decides the size. Prices are quoted before service charge and VAT, the ++ you see on menus across Thailand. Wine is separate.
What should I order at Bisou Phuket?
At Bisou Phuket, start with the truffle French toast (390 THB), share the beef Wellington carved at the table (2,990 THB) or the seabass in salt crust flambéed tableside (1,290 THB), and finish with the grand cru chocolate soufflé (450 THB). That is the dinner most first-time tables build, and it is a good one. Prices are from our menu in August 2026 and change with the seasons; the live menu is always current.

Two things happen at the table that are worth ordering for: the beef Wellington is carved in front of you, and the seabass arrives whole in its salt crust and is set alight. And before any of it, warm sourdough and French butter go to every table at no charge; the butter comes first, always.
Who is behind Bisou Phuket?
Bisou Phuket was founded in 2025 by chef Antoine Darquin and sommelier Théo Lavergne, the pair behind Bisou Bangkok; head chef Manon Bares runs the kitchen and general manager Louis Chartier looks after the room. Antoine writes the menu and the ideas behind it; Théo built the wine list and the way the room drinks.
Manon leads the line every night. Louis runs the floor with a team that speaks French, English and Thai.
What is the bar like at Bisou Phuket?
Bisou Phuket keeps its cocktail bar open nightly until 1 AM, cocktails at 490 THB, with a DJ one night a week. The bar is not a waiting room for your table: it was built to be sat at, and you can come for a drink without booking dinner.
One night a week a DJ plays and the room lifts; the rest of the week the music stays lower and the candles do the work. Either way there is always a quieter corner if you want one, and Louis Chartier runs the room so that both kinds of evening can happen at once. The kitchen takes its last order around 11 PM, so the last two hours of the night belong to the bar. What to drink, and why the bar matters here, is in the cocktail bar at Bisou.
What is the dress code at Bisou?
Bisou Phuket is smart casual. No flip-flops. Phuket is hot and we are not formal, so a shirt or a nice top with trousers, a dress, good sandals or sneakers are all fine. A jacket is never required. The only thing we ask is to leave the beach at the beach.
Can I bring children to Bisou?
Bisou Phuket welcomes children: there is no minimum age and we have high chairs. Honest context, because it helps: the room runs on candlelight, it was built for adults, and the bar carries the later hours. A table with children is happiest at an early seating, from 6 to 8 PM, when the room is at its calmest. Tell us the ages when you book and we will seat you in the right corner and keep the kitchen quick on the first plates.
Do you have vegetarian and vegan options?
Bisou Phuket plates dedicated vegan dishes on request, and the printed menu carries vegetarian plates. Tell us when you book, or when you arrive, and Manon's team builds the plates around what you eat rather than handing you a list of removals. Allergies are handled the same way, by conversation at booking and again at the table.
How do I book, and can I walk in?
Bisou Phuket takes reservations at book.bistrochat.com/bisou-phuket or by phone at +66 96 378 9668, and walk-ins are welcome when there is a table. Dinner is served nightly from 6 PM to 1 AM, with the last food order around 11 PM.
A few details that answer the next question:
- You can come just for a drink: the cocktail bar runs until 1 AM every night.
- There is a terrace in front.
- We speak French, English and Thai in the room.
- Parking is close by the restaurant.
- Note a birthday, an anniversary or an allergy when you book and the room is set before you arrive.
What about birthdays and private events?
Bisou Phuket takes 10 percent off the whole bill, for the whole table, on any night of your birth month, on presentation of an ID, and every celebrating table gets a birthday dessert plate at no charge. The offer is worth reading twice, because it is broader than most: it is not a birthday-day offer but a birth-month one.
Show an ID that says you were born this month and 10 percent comes off the entire bill, for everyone at the table, whichever night of the month you choose. The offer is specific to Bisou Phuket. The dessert plate arrives without being asked for: Happy Birthday piped in chocolate across a large plate, with quenelles, edible flowers and a candle. And you may bring your own cake, free: no cakeage, no fee of any kind, and we cut and serve it. The full ritual is in Birthday Dinner in Phuket.
For a group, there is a private dining room, a private upper floor, or the whole restaurant as a full buyout, each shaped to the party and the budget. Details and the enquiry form are on private events, and the comparison with the other private rooms in the neighbourhood is in our private dining guide.
Is there a Bisou in Bangkok?
Bisou Bangkok, the first Bisou, opened in 2024 on Soi Langsuan by the same founders, and it is listed in the MICHELIN Guide Thailand as MICHELIN Selected, in both 2025 and 2026. That listing belongs to Bisou Bangkok.
The two restaurants share their founders and their spirit, and each has its own room, its own menu and its own site: everything to know before you book there is in the Bisou Bangkok guide. If your trip covers both cities, dinner at each is two different evenings, not the same one twice.
